Dinsdag 19 maart 2024 - Tomorrowland viert het 20-jarig bestaan en dit feestjaar wordt in de kijker gezet op de plek waar het allemaal begon: De Schorre in Boom. Tijdens een unieke Tomorrowland Expo ‘A Trip down Memory Lane’, vrij toegankelijk voor iedereen, maak je een reis door de tijd, terugkijkend op de afgelopen twee decennia én ontdek je ook de allernieuwste Tomorrowland projecten. Terwijl de lente haar intrede doet, biedt deze uitstap ook de perfecte gelegenheid om de prachtige kunstinstallaties, zoals de iconische One World Bridge, de betoverende Stairway to Unity, alsook de 7 magische trollen te bewonderen. Een boeiende dagtrip voor zowel jong als oud die niet mag ontbreken in je agenda dit voorjaar. De expo loopt van 1 april tot 2 juni in congrescentrum De Pitte in De Schorre. 20 jaar vol verhalen
​Tijdens de Tomorrowland Expo neem je een duik in 20 jaar Tomorrowland. Een tijdlijn met anekdotes vertelt het verhaal vanaf het prille begin tot nu. ​ Zo kom je ondermeer te weten wanneer DreamVille zijn thuis vond in Rumst, het ontstaan van het buurtteam, enkele bijzondere hoogtepunten en hoe het festival uitgroeide tot een wereldwijd fenomeen. Vanaf zijn oorsprong op De Schorre in Boom tot zijn uitbreiding naar verschillende delen van de wereld, is Tomorrowland niet alleen een festival geworden, maar ook een cultureel icoon. Tijdens de expo ontdek je ook enkele primeurs. Zo kom je meer te weten over het nieuwe fictieboek dat dit najaar zal gelanceerd worden. Buurman Kamiel De Clerck selecteerde zijn 5 favoriete foto’s van elke Tomorrowland editie. Kamiel is de énige fotograaf die elk jaar foto’s kon maken van zowel de voorbereidingen als van het festival zelf. ​

Ontdek De Schorre
​Als je nog wat tijd over hebt, zorg er dan zeker voor dat je het Provinciaal Domein De Schorre verkent, dat de afgelopen jaren tal van eyecatchers heeft gekregen. In 2014 werd bijvoorbeeld de One World Bridge met het indrukwekkende kunstwerk van Arne Quinze gebouwd. Duizenden plankjes met verborgen boodschappen werden gebruikt om de brug te bouwen. In 2022 verrees in miljoenen mozaïeksteentjes de Stairway to Unity. Dé plek om je meest kleurrijke Instagram foto te maken. Een absolute must is ook de wandeling van de 7 trollen. Deze wandelroute van ongeveer 2 km leidt je langs 7 trollen, en eindigt bij een uitkijktoren die een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht biedt over het hele domein. Bij helder weer kun je zelfs in de verte het Atomium zien glinsteren. Binnenkort, midden mei, wordt ook het recreatieve Nest, een plek voor Urban Sports ingehuldigd.
