Al meer dan 10.000 bezoekers voor Tomorrowland Expo in De Schorre

De expo, die nog tot 2 juni te bezoeken is, dompelt je onder in de 20-jarige geschiedenis van Tomorrowland

Donderdag 16 mei 2024 - De gratis Tomorrowland Expo in het congrescentrum De Pitte op De Schorre, heeft sinds de opening op 1 april al 10.000 bezoekers verwelkomd. De expo, die nog tot 2 juni te bezoeken is, dompelt je onder in de 20-jarige geschiedenis van Tomorrowland.

Een hoogtepunt van de expo is ondermeer de Reflection of Love Mainstage, opgebouwd uit Lego-blokjes, die onlangs werd opgebouwd. Alsook, de tijdlijn met verhalen en anekdotes die het evolutiepad van het festival vanaf zijn bescheiden begin tot aan zijn wereldwijde expansie in kaart brengen. Van de eerste stappen op De Schorre in Boom tot de uitbreiding naar Frankrijk en Brazilië.

Verder mag je je ook verwachten aan enkele primeurs. Een nieuw fictieboek dat later dit jaar zal worden gelanceerd, wordt er bijvoorbeeld onthuld. Daarnaast heeft buurman Kamiel De Clerck zijn 5 favoriete foto's geselecteerd van elke editie van Tomorrowland. Kamiel is de enige fotograaf die elk jaar foto's kon maken, zowel van de voorbereidingen als van het festival zelf.

Voor degenen die wat extra tijd hebben, heeft het Provinciaal Domein De Schorre ook nog heel wat te bieden: van de indrukwekkende One World Bridge met het kunstwerk van Arne Quinze tot de kleurrijke Stairway to Unity, gemaakt van miljoenen mozaïeksteentjes. Een wandeling langs de 7 trollenroute van de Deense kunstenaar Thomas Dambo,  die eindigt bij een uitkijktoren met een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht over het hele domein tot aan het Atomium, is ook een absolute aanrader. Voor de durfal: afgelopen weekend opende ook de gloednieuwe skatebowl in het urban park.
