This was the first day of Tomorrowland Belgium 2025

This is what unity looks like

Saturday, 19 July 2025 - The first day of Tomorrowland’s 19th edition has ended. A cruel twist of fate made People of Tomorrow around the world hold their breath in anxious apprehension last Wednesday evening. Due to an unfortunate accident, a fire broke out on the Mainstage during the final stages of construction and rehearsals. Although no one was injured in the event, it quickly became apparent that the whole Mainstage was lost, destroying two years of passionate work by Tomorrowland’s creative and fabrication teams, as well as the technical equipment that would have brought the story of ‘Orbyz’ to life. But Tomorrowland wouldn’t be Tomorrowland if they could not find a solution to such a seemingly devastating setback. After an outpouring of love from People of Tomorrow worldwide, the incredible production and construction crews worked round the clock to rebuild the Mainstage, and Tomorrowland was able to go through mostly as planned. The gates opened to welcome thousands of sparkling souls who were more ready than ever to make the most of it. A crowd congregated by the newly re-erected Mainstage, cheering on crew as they put the finishing touches to the new edifice, built up in the span of less than 48 hours. When the barriers finally came down, the crowd stormed the stage as one: all the unity that we ever could have wished for, and perhaps even more. This is the story of how Tomorrowland’s spirit rises from the ashes.

The show goes on
Besides the obvious gaping hole were the Mainstage should have been, a situation like this presents serious logistical issues. First of all, the skeleton of the Mainstage had to be stabilized and made safe to build – and later on, party – around. With that taken care of, the fundamental question became one of space: was there enough real estate, and enough accessible emergency exits to allow everyone safely onto the premises? And how could a new stage be raised on top of the old one in an extremely limited timeframe, working around the debris created by the fire? With all of these challenges ahead, Tomorrowland staff faced some tough choices while working around the clock to figure out what was possible, but one thing was for sure: the show would go on, no matter what. Live Today, Love Tomorrow, Unite Forever!
