Brussels Airlines brings more than 14,000 festivalgoers to magical Tomorrowland

On board are no less than 122 different nationalities, with the Spanish being the most represented one

Wednesday, 17 July 2024 - For the 12th year, Brussels Airlines is a proud partner of Tomorrowland, the greatest music festival in the world. The Belgian carrier will bring more than 14,000 festivalgoers to and from the festival in July. On board are no less than 122 different nationalities, with the Spanish being the most represented one. All festivalgoers, together with Tomorrowland and the Belgian airline, invested in reducing the impact of the flights, which will result in the reduction of 96 tonnes of CO2-emissions.

Tomorrowland is celebrating 20 years in 2024 and this summer edition will revolve around the theme 'LIFE', the sequel to the 2016 theme 'Elixir of Life'. Taking place during the third and fourth weekend of July, the internationally renowned festival will welcome more than 800 artists across 16 enchanting stages. The beautiful setting of ‘De Schorre’ recreation park in Boom will be transformed into a place where the world comes together to the delight of 400,000 festivalgoers from all over the world.

First party flight of the brand-new Amare
The Amare was presented to the world at the end of April. The newest Belgian Icon is a brand-new Airbus A320neo which represents the famous bird coming to life thanks to augmented reality. The Tomorrowland experience continues inside the aircraft where the festivalgoers enjoy the impressive sound system and special mood lighting.

Continuously investing to lower the environmental impact
The new Amare is the second brand-new A320neo (with registration number OO-SBB) to have joined Brussels Airlines’ fleet in December 2023. The neo emits 20% less CO2 and up to 50% less noise than its predecessors. The Belgian Icon is therefore a tangible example of how both partners are aiming to reduce their environmental impact.

Furthermore, all Global Journey Packages sold by Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland are Green Fares. These Fares offset the individual flight related CO2-emissions through Sustainable Aviation Fuel (20%) and the investment into high-quality climate protection projects (80%). On top of that, Tomorrowland and Brussels Airlines signed an agreement to invest in additional SAF equivalent to the amount of the fuel used for the six party flights. This way, the passengers, the festival and the airline are jointly supporting the essential energy transition in aviation.

Brussels Airlines connects the world to Belgium
The Belgian carrier will bring more than 14,000 music lovers to and from the festival. Passengers with over 122 different nationalities are flying from almost 40 airports to Belgium. A lot of the festivalgoers chose to come and discover Belgium prior to the festival heading to Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp and Brussels. Next to that, some will also discover a number of European cities with a touch of Tomorrowland via Discover Europe. On board, the most common nationalities are Spanish (23%), American (9%), closely followed by Swiss and British (both 8%).

This year as well, six flights will be completely transformed into unique Tomorrowland Party Flights. During those flights, passengers enjoy a first live DJ set at 10 kilometers altitude. On the very first Party Flight coming from Ibiza (SN 1182) on July 17th, the Belgian Meaghan Slaets played a set. To get into the mood before boarding the party flight in Ibiza, they were treated to the first of eight gate parties.

Festivalgoers traveling back home by plane can already check in their luggage and tents at the baggage drop-off point on the DreamVille campsite. A DreamVille Service Desk is also organised, where travelers can get answers to all their questions.

As it has become a tradition, Brussels Airlines invites everyone to take a free ride on 'The Home of Amare' attraction on the festival grounds. From this Ferris wheel, music lovers will get a stunning view of the enchanting Tomorrowland ground.

Passengers will also be able to experience the unique Tomorrowland atmosphere at Brussels Airport. In the Connector, towards Pier A, the airport will set up a fun DJ Booth. On Monday 22 July and Monday 29 July, several DJs will take turns playing sets there between 7 am and 7 pm.
